Crude linseed oil for the dilution of oil and alkyd paints for wood surfaces before staining and patching.
Apply linseed oil to the air-dry wood surface to be treated up to two times. Whatever the wood fibres do not absorb should be wiped off to prevent the surface from sticking and dust from settling.
The incorporation of linseed oil into the wood fibres is accelerated by heating the oil or mixing it with up to 40% petroleum spirit. The drying time required for repainting depends on the moisture content of the wood surface and the humidity of the atmosphere, on average 4-26 hours.
