Washing soda (sodium carbonate) is a general water softener, degreaser, soak and cleaner. A very small amount of the highly alkaline absorbent powder, which is highly soluble in hot water, is sufficient. It is manufactured without any by-products that could harm the environment and it biodegrades after use.
Washing soda is suitable for both machine and hand washing, especially for white clothes. It can be used on its own or mixed with washing powder, or even with the usual washing powders, of which less is needed. The washing soda is an excellent degreaser and can be used as a general cleaning agent.
